December Inside Look at Realty ONE Group Select and BIC Barry Aldridge and wife Dawn Aldridge! What a fun couple, and a great agency!

Walking through the door at Realty ONE Group Select in Mooresville, I feel the positive energy and creativity in the atmosphere. Owner/broker Barry Aldridge and co-owner and wife, Dawn, exude an aura of endless possibility. What strikes me is a photo wall in the hallway which beckons your attention – smiling faces of realtors having fun, earning their first closing pin, helping their favorite charity, or embarking on their first day with Barry and Dawn – it’s all good, and it’s all about the realtors here at Realty ONE Group Select.

With over 15 years in the real estate business, Barry Aldridge knew what he was looking for when he sought to open a real estate firm. Having identified the pros and cons of various office structures and systems, he sought to open a different type of office, one focused on more earning power, more tech marketing, and superior individualized coaching. What he was looking for, he found as a franchise owner of Realty ONE Group Select. Barry and Dawn
opened their doors on January 1, 2018, as the first franchisee of Realty ONE Group in North Carolina.

The word “Select” at the end of the title was hand-picked by Barry and Dawn. Each franchise can identify itself through unique branding of a fourth title word. “’Select’ in the dictionary means ‘chosen from many,’ and we want our realtors to know when they join this ‘family’ they were handpicked from the cream of the crop to be a part of our team,” explains Barry.

No doubt serious in his approach to recruiting, Barry spends about two hours with Dawn getting to know potential new agents. It’s essential for both of them to meet with potential agents and, as a prospective agent, meeting with both Barry and Dawn shows the sense of support and teamwork the firm offers. The couple has over 45 years combined experience to offer as mentors. Through this shared experience, they also have an eye for spotting a great team fit for Realty ONE Group Select.

“It’s all about you,” Barry explains. The difference to agents working
with Realty ONE Group Select is more money available to them from
each of their hard-earned closings. The firm has a unique 100-percent commission plan which places more money in the hands of the agents for their hard work and motivation. For example, there is a flat fee of $450 on home sales prices between $100,000- $500,000. Typical realtor commission plans elsewhere are on a percentage basis coming from each sale.

With this enhanced financial plan, Realty ONE Select offers 24/7 broker support. While chatting, Barry pulled out two cell phones. “One of these is my personal cell phone, and the other is dedicated to our agents.”

Barry and Dawn meet with all newly signed agents for a two-hour onboarding and training session followed by a two-hour tech training session. Training is ONEon-ONE, so agents don’t get ‘lost’ in a classroom environment. Barry also offers ONE-on-ONE training he calls “Wednesdays with Barry,” which is a half hour to one-hour opportunity to tap into the years of experience and wisdom that he shares through coaching.

Along with personal coaching and support, the tech training at Realty ONE Group Select is impressive. Each agent receives their own free website, interactive CMA presentation tools, Customer Relationship Management Tools, Branded Mobile App, Video Marketing App, Automated Social Media Posting, Skyslope Transaction Management and much more! Dawn is principal at implementing these user-friendly tools so agents can maximize their time with clients.

With Barry as CEO and chief recruiter, Dawn focuses on the back office administrative portion of the office. She provides onboarding and training, as well as handles the accounting and payroll processes to keep agents paid timely. Executive assistant Susan White works closely with Dawn, and Dawn shines on praising
Susan. “She is my right hand!” says Dawn. Along with the three in-office staff, there is an on-site branch of Movement Mortgage, with Mark DeVita as a mortgage resource to the team and their clients.

Success begets success. From the company’s opening, only 10 months ago, the office has grown to include 42 happy, thriving agents. The agent’s words speak for the truth of the “coolture” within Realty ONE Group Select. During my meeting with Barry, real estate agent Whitney Parsons texted him after their morning meeting and agent recognition.

It’s all in having satisfied customers in the real estate world, and having happy, energized agents is what makes Barry and Dawn relish in their decision to open Realty ONE Group Select. The team works together supporting individual agents’ charity efforts. The team recently had one of the largest turnouts for a Habitat for Humanity Saturday workshop.

“Ben Thomas of Habitat told me it was the largest office turnout he has seen this year,” Dawn exclaimed. “We were so numerous they were able to divide us up from the doorknob and cabinetry project to another project of painting.”

Kind hearts run deep within the office. Naomi Race is active with the local Mooresville Police Department. Cristina Grossu is active with Beds for Kids, while Nicole Occhiato works with Go Jen Go which supports local cancer aid efforts. Nicole is a cancer survivor who is dedicated to the cause. Nicole says, “Barry and Dawn were so supportive of me when I was facing this challenge, and their sincere concern for everyone here is so evident.” Each agent has the opportunity to bring their own passion to the group, and collectively the team supports its efforts.

With the vibe of positivity running strong, the office is big on recognition. Along with coaching sessions, the team meets as a group to celebrate events and successes. Monthly recognition energizes the team and provides a way to share best practices and experiences. A unique recognition is the Realty ONE Group Select pin that each agent receives after their first closing. A snapshot is taken as a commemoration and joins the awesome wallboard of glowing faces.
