Years ago, someone took REALTOR® Liza Caminiti aside and gently suggested that real estate “may not be her thing.” Since then, Liza has closed over $100 million in sales, earned a reputation for giving clients instant gratification, and has started dominating the luxury market. It wasn’t easy, but this Pittsburgh, PA, native never gave up.

“Life has thrown a lot of curveballs at me, but that’s given me my drive and character,” Liza says. “When I moved here not knowing anyone, I knew that I had a great mountain to climb to make it in the real estate industry. Being told I couldn’t do it awakened the bull inside of me. I worked very hard seven days a week, showing 20 houses a day, and made it all come together.”

Initially, Liza moved to Charlotte as an interior designer. She’d graduated from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles, CA, and worked as a designer in Miami after college. Liza also dabbled in event planning, modeling, acting, and flipping homes – which sparked her interest in real estate.

“When I moved to Charlotte, I saw how fast the city was growing, and I wanted to be a part of that growth,” Liza says. “I knew with my design background, my drive, and my networking abilities, I could make real estate work for me. So I obtained my license in 2014 and went to work for Ryland Homes in new construction sales.”

Appreciating the experience but wanting to sell in her own name, Liza became an independent agent later that year. However, despite holding open houses every weekend, she only closed on four homes. She realized she needed a different approach if she wanted to reach her goals. So, in 2016, Liza switched to Paracle Realty.

“I will always be so appreciative for everything the Paracle owners did for me,” she says. “They laid the platform out for me and gave me so many leads that I closed almost $14 million in my first year there! I was finally able to talk the talk and walk the walk.”

Noticing her success, Ivester Jackson | Christie’s International Real Estate approached Liza in 2017. “Within the first 10 minutes of meeting with my wonderful firm owners, Reed and Lori Jackson, I knew it was my home,” Liza smiles. “I admired the amount of business that Lori did and the excellent reputation that she has. Plus, their worldwide marketing is what I needed to take my business to the next level. Ivester Jackson makes our jobs easier. They are the best to work for, and I am honored to be representing the Christie’s brand.”

Last year, Liza closed on more than $43 million in sales. Now she is on track to exceed that number in 2021 as a Christie’s International Real Estate Luxury Specialist, Ivester Jackson Senior Broker, and Certified Luxury Home Marketing Specialist. Liza is also a Million Dollar Guild Member, had been recognized as a “Rising Star” by The Charlotte Observer and Charlotte Real Producers, and is a 2021 Christie’s Master’s Circle Inductee.

“I eat, sleep, and live real estate all day long every day,” Liza says. “I go way above and beyond for my clients, and the reward is them becoming lifelong friends. I’m thankful for the wonderful referral business I’m organically growing, and for the incredible developers I’ve started to work with. God has been very good to me!”

To give back, Liza loves supporting The Boys To Men Foundation. She and her 14-year-old son, Julian, are both mentors there. “Anything to do with children or animals is a huge passion of mine,” she says. “Every child in this world deserves an opportunity and a glimpse of hope.”

In her free time, Liza loves to fish, especially with Julian, her best friend and whole world. They both enjoy surfing, kayaking, and taking quick trips to beautiful areas in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia. The duo can be found hiking, golfing, attending Charlotte Checkers games, and traveling to UGA football games. “We love to try new foods and listen to good old country music,” Liza smiles. “I also love to sing, and I am a complete sucker for a good love story movie!”

“To me, real estate is about being able to make people happy,” Liza says. “I am an overachiever, so I set extremely high goals and push myself to achieve them. I work hard and have a daily grind routine. But I am also very soft-hearted. Just being able to make someone smile or feel loved also makes me feel successful.”

To help other agents be successful, Liza offers excellent advice: “It’s crucial to know your market,” she says. “Be in contact with many other agents and developers while also staying in touch with clients. Also, have a good business plan and hire people who have the same work ethic as you. My amazing assistant, Amber Matzke, helps me so much. As a result, I can now be out doing my business and not paperwork. Finally, don’t ever let anyone tell you what you are capable of doing. The sky is the limit if you don’t give up!”
