Kristen Pegg Covers All the Bases!
Written by Heather Pluard
Determination, discipline, and competitiveness helped REALTOR® Kristen Pegg thrive as a collegiate athlete and also as a new real estate agent. Two years after obtaining her license, this former Appalachian State University softball player is putting her teamwork skills to work for her clients, and she’s already at the top of her game.
“I’ve always worked well on a team with others, learning early on how to adapt and work with all different types of personalities,” Kristen says. “The way I approach my business comes down to hard work, but I am also a people person. I know how to advise and lead clients through a transaction successfully while supporting them and showing up for them as a friend through the process. I put myself in their shoes and make them the priority because my goal is to build a great friendship that lasts long after the sale.”
Now entering her third full year as a REALTOR®, Kristen also credits the skills she learned in Corporate America for her rapid rise in real estate. “I previously worked in the digital advertising world where I assisted in paid search and social campaigns for clients such as Lowe’s Home Improvement,” she says. “I enjoyed using my creativity and eye for detail to boost corporate brand sales and social following, and I love doing the same for my own brand now. You can’t be a ‘quiet’ agent if you want to be successful. You have to put yourself out there, which requires confidence and the ability to stay focused on everything you are building. My best advice is to push aside any fear, and don’t compare your path to the person beside you.”
Since obtaining her license in 2018, Kristen has effectively used her entire skillset to grow her business. She is already a Top Producer at Cottingham Chalk, ranking 14th in the agency in 2020, and Property Spark ranked her as a Top Agent on Social Media.
“I am so grateful for the clients who trusted me to walk alongside them that first year,” Kristen says. “And the family atmosphere at Cottingham Chalk made me feel supported while challenging me to be my best. By 2020, I’d tripled my number of transactions, but I shy away from using the word ‘transaction’ because that’s not how I view real estate sales. Relationships are my number one focus, and I’m thankful for every single client.”
Moving to Charlotte in 2016, Kristen fell in love with the city and the character of its neighborhoods and homes. “One of my favorite things to do was walk around and explore the streets of Charlotte,” she smiles. “I’ve always loved looking at homes, even when I was a kid, and I wanted a relationship-based career that was without limits. Combined with my desire to help others, I knew real estate was the right career for me. I love how every day looks different, and I like the challenge of setting the bar high and holding myself accountable.”
Hard work has been the foundation of Kristen’s success in both sports and life. Now she’s channeling her energy to serve clients and their families exceptionally well. “I don’t just want to be someone’s one-time REALTOR®,” she says. “I want to be their chosen REALTOR® for life. I love meeting new faces, and I feel privileged to work with all different types of clients and walk alongside them during these big life moments.”
