Opposites may attract, but similarities bring success! The Compass Group at Rinehart Realty Downtown recently celebrated its first year, closing 2020 with $16 million in sales with a team of two dynamic agents, Chris Beard and Kyle Christopher. By focusing on quality, not quantity, these two like-minded REALTORS® are putting clients’ needs first without sacrificing work/life balance.
“Faith and family are our foundation,” Chris says. “Throughout our time working together, having conversations and collaborating, Kyle and I realized that our philosophies and approaches to real estate were extremely similar. Since our goals were already aligned, we knew we would work well together as a team.”
Launching a new business right before the pandemic hit in 2019 was challenging, but with a deep commitment to focusing on their clients’ best interests and a little help from in-house marketing, Chris and Kyle were a tremendous success in 2020. Experience also played a part. Kyle has been a REALTOR® for 14 years, and Chris, a retired school principal, is in his third year in real estate.
“Unlike most teams, it’s not our desire to grow into a large entity,” Kyle says. “We want our clients to feel they are getting individual attention from us and receiving the absolute best service throughout their entire experience. Trust is essential. We encourage clients to make decisions based on what is in their best interest, and when we walk away from the closing table, we know we’ve given them our best.”
The Compass Group’s philosophy is that relationships are the key to assisting clients with their home purchase or sale. “We view closing as the continuation of our relationship, not the end of it,” Kyle says. “From the moment we work with buyers and sellers, we’re building trust and positioning them to be competitive and successful in a market that is extremely active due to the low inventory of homes. There are often multiple offers on properties these days. We protect our clients on both sides of the equation and make sure they are fully equipped to make good decisions. The Charlotte market will continue to be hot throughout 2021, especially with the Carolina Panthers training facilities and Atrium Health moving into our backyard.”
As they grow their client base, Chris and Kyle plan to add additional support staff to help with the transaction process while they continue to provide one-on-one service to clients. “We love what we do and plan to be in business together for many years to come,” Chris says. “We also wholeheartedly believe in supporting our community. Donating to non-profits that support children with special needs is particularly important to us, and we enjoy providing generous support to numerous schools to help fund teacher grants and purchase supplies. Success is being able to live our values while fully representing clients, and we feel extremely gratified when they are pleased.”
With the work/life balance they’ve always wanted, Chris and Kyle enjoy spending lots of time with their families. Chris and his wife, Karen, have been married for 30 years and have two children, Jenna (26) and Chandler (23). They also have a grandson, Rett, who will turn 1 this month. Kyle has been married to his wife, Kennedi, for ten years. The couple has a four-year-old daughter, Addy Kate, and two fur babies.
