Check out our Fashionista Rising Star Michelle Kittleson Weeks with Helen Adams Realty!

If you’re looking for an exciting trip to plan or advice on going abroad, you can chat with Michelle Weeks. If you’re new to the Charlotte area and looking for the perfect neighborhood to make your new home, you can consult Michelle Weeks. Weaving a path together with 25 years of family life in Charlotte and an extensive travel repertoire, Michelle blends it all together with a touch of Midwest charm!

Originally from a small town in Iowa, Michelle has followed a career in fashion and design that took her to Miami after college. Traveling for work meant countless time spent in airports; however, this was not a detriment to Michelle. On one of her trips, she met a kind, dashing pilot (David) who ended up to be her forever love and husband of 25 years. Their love of travel grew together as did their family. With David being from North Carolina, it was a natural choice to settle in the Queen City as it was perfect for raising a family.

Using her ability to connect people and places, Michelle was able to build a sphere of friends within Charlotte. Michelle was and still is active with running, yoga, tennis, Bible study, and neighborhood book clubs. Working with exclusive children’s clothing trunk sales, Michelle networked within many local neighborhoods meeting new friends. Eventually, Michelle moved into a position as a Recruiter and Director of Sales for an NYC-based company in the fashion industry. With Charlotte as her home base, there was no end to the possibilities of where to go or what would come next.

What did come next was a dazzling career in real estate, when Michelle joined the Ballantyne branch of Helen Adams Realty in May 2017. When asked about her move into this position, Michelle shares, “I was starting a new phase of life where I wanted to work locally in this great city of Charlotte. Our real estate market was on fire and was growing by leaps and bounds with an influx of people moving here. I LOVE the opportunity to show off our gorgeous city to people relocating here. I wanted to be successful financially and personally. Real Estate was the answer to it all!”

With two and a half years as a real estate agent, Michelle’s career has taken quite the ascent. With a sales volume of 20M and 10.5M alone in 2018, Michelle is leveling into a significant pattern of success. Her hard work and tenacity have earned her the Helen Adams Rookie of the Year in 2017, Membership within the Institute of Luxury and Million Dollar Guild, Certified Luxury Marketing Specialist designation, as well as Ninja Certified and Silver Sales Leader within Helen Adams.

Mention Michelle Weeks to Geri Mullinix, with Helen Adams Realty, and there’s nothing but praise! “She has really taken off and is such a go-getter who always provides a high level of service to her clients.” Geri had the opportunity to coach Michelle last summer. Michelle’s Broker-in-Charge, Kerry Price Doub, remembers the day she interviewed Michelle. “She came in with a strong business background, solid work ethic, and had some pretty big goals. Watching Michelle work hard as she did from the first day on the job, I knew she was going to be a strong force in our industry. If Michelle says she can do it, then she absolutely will.”

Michelle’s time working and raising a family in Charlotte have given her firm roots and a genuine affection for the local region. “I love Charlotte; I love working with people and helping them find their dream home. I know Charlotte and all of its fabulous neighborhoods, all so unique and special in their own way, from Lake Norman to Ballantyne and even into Fort Mill.”

Curious about Michelle’s Top 5 favorite things about working in real estate? She is happy to share. “#1 Being my own Boss, #2 Making my own schedule, #3 Meeting New People, #4 Doing something new every day, and #5 Controlling my own advancement and success.”

When asked about what she is looking forward to in the upcoming year, Michelle notes, “Growing my Luxury Brand using my new designation to offer exceptional service to affluent buyers and luxury properties.” With a knack for locating the perfect buyer for any listing or the most exquisite home for the most discerning buyer, Michelle is sure to be fruitful in her pursuits.

In regards to fulfilling personal goals, Michelle adds, “Being successful in an industry that is this competitive is very motivating.” Yet it all is not without hard work.

Embarking on any new career pursuit has its challenges. Michelle reflects, “It’s daunting, learning all the ins and outs of Real Estate and that each transaction is completely different. Having a team of real estate agents and a great company is important. Helen Adams Realty is behind you (as an agent) to lean on and learn from. Every transaction is different and comes with its own set of challenges.”

Michelle has shown she can overcome any obstacle. She enjoys working in a career that allows her to work hard and play hard. “Real Estate gives me the ability to have the flexibility to travel and see the world with my family. As well, it allows me to have the financial success to provide for my family and all that we want to do.”

With her husband, David, sharing her love of travel, the family loves to jaunt off to fun, exciting destinations. Most recently, they have journeyed to the Andes Mountains in Chile as well as captivating cities such as Hong Kong, Budapest, Abu Dhabi, and Sydney, among others. With David being a retired International Captain for American Airlines, the family enjoys the benefit of free travel. “My husband loves to show me the world.” The kids enjoy joining their parents as well on travel adventures. Currently, Libby (22), a graduate of NC State, is working for Belk Corporate, and Carter (20) is a sophomore at NC State. Go Wolf Pack!

When not helping clients acclimate to their new homes in Charlotte, spending time with family or traveling, Michelle has a big heart for fostering puppies. She loves to support the local Humane Society. Over her time in Charlotte, she has fostered over 50 puppies and helped find their ‘forever’ homes. Even puppies are not exempt from Michelle’s special skills at home sourcing!

With all of her accomplishments over such a short time in the industry, it is always great to share some tidbits to those entering the field. “Learn balance, because Real Estate can be overwhelming and all-consuming. Work hard but always carve time out for yourself and your family. The more you give, the more comes back to you. Share your knowledge, professionalism, and kindness with everyone.”

With the energy and exuberance in Michelle’s words, one can only imagine the flight course this awesome lady still has in front of her!
