Lindsay Smith Encourages Others to DO YOU!

Around the world in 80 days?
I bet if, given the challenge, Lindsay Smith would do it! As a new agent, as of September 2018, Lindsay had spent much of her early married life moving throughout the United States as a military spouse.
Originally from Connecticut, Lindsay was introduced to the Queen City as a college freshman majoring in International Studies at the University of North Carolina Charlotte (UNCC). While in Charlotte, she met her husband, Peyton. When Peyton graduated from his ROTC program at UNCC, he went straight into the Air Force as a commissioned officer, and the travels began…

For Lindsay, it was a blessing as their first stop on tour was Boston. Closer to family, Lindsay finished up her schooling at the University of Massachusetts. The couple’s journeys continued throughout the United States with stays in Montana and California.

Throughout her moves, Lindsay always thought about real estate. Her father had been a Broker/Agent in Connecticut, so she grew up understanding the business through the eyes of a child—weekends helping dad with open houses if her mom, a nurse, was working or helping him with administrative tasks in his home office. As an adult, Lindsay saw real estate firsthand as multiple moves meant multiple new homes.

With her interest in real estate throughout her moves, Lindsay was able to see how different the real estate training was in other areas. In Massachusetts, training was a weekend class. In Montana, an interested party could just sit for the real estate exam. California’s real estate consists of reading the book and taking the exam. Although each time Lindsay wanted to step into real estate professionally, there seemed to be something that changed her path.

When her hubby was medically discharged from the Air Force, Lindsay felt a rush of faith. Deciding to move back to the Queen City of Charlotte, Lindsay took a leap with her husband—purchasing a house and making a new life for both of them.

The timing could not have been more perfect! Obtaining her real estate license and joining with the MY Brand, specifically MY Townhome, Lindsay worked with mentor Matt Claxton. A volume of over $15 million within those first two years was a sure sign that ‘doing you’ is a sure way to succeed. “Working with Matt for two years, I felt empowered, as Matt let me be me. I was able to develop my career in my own style,” Smith notes.

Moving along in her career, Lindsay moved over to Keller Williams South Park. Currently, her career to date volume is growing steadily at $16.9 million. Lindsay is passionate about growing her business and leveraging her network of military spouses and REALTOR® contacts nationwide.

Especially passionate about EVERYBODY at EVERY price point having keys to their own home, Lindsay devotes full energy and focus, whether it be an $80K home or a unique style family home. “Whether a forever home or a for now home, I’m looking to fulfill each client’s dreams of homeownership and to build friendships along the way,” Lindsay tells us. “One of the biggest compliments I have received from a client was after a custom home walkthrough. She told me, ‘it was like spending time shopping with a girlfriend.’”

For Lindsay, relationships with customers blossom into friendships. A neat follow-up happened with one of her first clients who moved to Charlotte from Italy. The two became friends, and he helped Lindsay and her family plan a fabulous itinerary for their journey abroad to his birthplace, Italy (Pre-COVID-19). Interestingly, this client is listing his previously purchased townhome with Lindsay as his life’s work is taking him to fabulous France.

Through her Facebook page, Forever Home Carolina, Lindsay strives to truly connect with her clients. Lindsay likes to use fun prompts to engage customers right away. She shares, “I have a ‘getting to know you’ questionnaire for each new client—I love things like remembering birthdays, anniversaries, or special interests. What better way to be able to share local favorites like restaurants and things to do other than by finding it out firsthand and specializing it to each customer?”

Relationships. Forever Homes. For Now Homes. All of these are synonymous with Lindsay Smith.
