Jose Sanchez Has Found Success Being Service-Minded! KW Premier, Keller Williams Realty Written by Allison Parker Photos by Kelly Klemmensen Photography With five college degrees, including a Doctorate in Business Administration, Dr. Jose Sanchez is one of the most educated REALTORS® in America. But that isn’t what makes him unique. His commitment to serving clients at every price point, educating, mentoring, and helping people build wealth through real estate is what sets Jose apart.
“I receive my inspiration from my family and push forward not in the hopes of receiving acclaim for my actions, but in the hopes of helping one person at a time,” Jose says. “It may sound a bit corny, but in reality, it is the truth. Many individuals are not at high price points in the market and often get overlooked by real estate agents simply because their circumstances are too difficult to navigate and the reward is too little in the end. I relate to those individuals because I, too, have had to make my way absent a mentor or a guiding voice to lend insight into calming the turbulent seas of life. That’s why my business model as an individual agent lends to having many transactions at smaller price points.” In 2020, Jose had more than 100 transactions and finished the year with $20-million in sales. Since obtaining his license in November of 2014 and joining Keller Williams Premier three months later, he won Rookie of the Year in 2015, earned a spot as a Top Producer all six of his years in the industry, and has a career volume of almost $80 million. But even though this New York City native has Bachelor of Science degrees in Applied Mathematics and Economics, an MBA in Global Management, and a Master’s in School Administration, he does not define success by numbers. “Success is the intangible feeling you have when you see something through to its end and realize anything is possible,” Jose says. “We live and die by the consequences of the decisions we make. After serving in the United States Navy for 20 years, I transitioned into real estate to pursue a personal interest in real estate investment. As an investor, I came across many individuals seeking information and assistance with their own investment activities. Ultimately, I found more value and fulfillment in helping others reach their investment objectives than I did in achieving my own. That’s when I began searching for a better means to be of service.” To serve his clients best, Jose built a team of service providers who span many different real estate sectors. “I’m passionate about being an effective resource to my clients,” he says. “And I derive satisfaction in connecting clients to the right service providers. Buying or selling a home is a team effort. Not every real estate transaction is the same in scope and disposition, and many obstacles to homeownership come from not equipping clients with the right complement of team members who are uniquely qualified to meet the needs of each transaction.” Committed to the idea that no obstacle is too big and no good deed is too small, Jose always finds a way forward. “The most rewarding part of my business is in knowing I had a role in realizing someone’s dream,” he says. “In my opinion, there is no greater validation of one’s efforts than in reaching the finish line with someone after having been told time and again that the dream is too fanciful to be a reality. I enjoy being an individual REALTOR® working at a pace most meaningful to those I serve within the community.” As an active member of his church parish, Jose enjoys serving the community in his free time, too. But time with his family is the most precious of all. He and his wife, Tish, have three children—Tristan (11), Marcus (9), and Emme (7). “We look forward to any and all activities we can do together,” Jose smiles. “From movie nights together to family speak at the dinner table, every occasion is memorable. My wife, Tish, is the engine that keeps us going. And, in addition to being a full-time mom, she is also my transaction coordinator.” Known for living in the moment and not for the moment, Jose finds comfort and peace in his early morning runs. “There is nothing more relaxing than running at dawn when no one else is stirring about,” he says. “It’s just you and your thoughts alone to solve all the pressing issues of the day. I do not like living in fear, and I will often take on activities that challenge me to overcome those fears. Real estate is an extensive umbrella covering many areas. My best advice to agents is to choose one thing you like and do it well. Others will soon take notice and seek you out for your experience and competence. You just have to be committed to that end and be sincere in your endeavor.” Despite attending three prestigious colleges, including Virginia Polytechnic and State University, Liberty University, and the University of Phoenix, it’s the school of life that has served Jose the most. “I am a creature of lessons learned, and everything I know today is a consequence of blood, sweat, and tears,” he says. “You would be amazed at how outstanding any one person can be should that individual have a purpose and resolve to an end.”
