Josée Cherrier Will Add Sunshine to Your Life!

If you are a friend, client, or family to Josée Cherrier, don’t be surprised on your birthday if you receive a heartfelt melodious video from her singing you wishes! This whimsical REALTOR® loves to celebrate people, especially on their birthdays. She loves to bring a little sunshine into the lives of people that she interacts with on a daily basis. Cherrier shares, “Once they recover from hearing my less-than-stellar vocals, if I’ve put a smile on their face and made them feel as special as they are to me, that makes me happy!” It’s no wonder that Josée’s key to success is her communication style and superior customer service.
Josée is originally from Montreal and was raised in Atlanta, Georgia, where she went on to obtain a bachelor’s degree in Hospitality from Georgia State University. She joined the real estate arena from the world of commercial insurance, where she worked for over 20 years. “I chose to focus on real estate because it was important to me to have a career where being a trusted advisor and delivering on promises would be appreciated as well as required,” Josée shares. She had prayed a lot about it and dove in, taking a real estate class on the weekends and getting herself acclimated. Cherrier became licensed in real estate in 2018.
“After a little over three years in the industry, I haven’t looked back,” Josée tells us. “Having worked in corporate America, I wanted to take a chance on myself. Considering I’m a hard worker, I felt that my income potential could be unlimited if I just continued to work hard, connect with people, and have some fun while doing it! I’m so glad I took that risk… It definitely has paid off not only income-wise, but the people I meet and work with fill my ‘heart bucket,’ and I feel like I make a difference.”
Cherrier’s top accolades include always being there for her clients. In fact, when asked about advice for newbies to the real estate world, she keeps it basic: “Answer the phone – your clients and other REALTORS® will appreciate this, and it WILL differentiate you!” She continues, “Create value for your clients and run your business ‘on purpose’ (read Ninja Selling and go through the Ninja Installation). Affiliate with a firm that invests in your growth by providing training, surround yourself with colleagues who unselfishly share their expertise with you, adopt a mindset of abundance, and practice daily gratitude. Lastly, establish work/life balance early on in your career (this is a work in progress)!”
Working on the work/life balance for Josée includes carving out time with family, friends, and her awesome Yorkie mix, Laynie. Laynie is a favorite companion who often travels with Josee and friends on foodie adventures in the Lake Norman area. Josée is an avid fan of her new Peloton bike, loves to play cards with friends, and knit with the ladies of “Hearts on Fiber,” a local knitting shop and club in Davidson. She also loves reading to unwind. “I’m a devoted reader,” Josée shares. “Growing up, my mom always took us to the local library where we would load up on books. As an adult, it’s one of the ways I relax. I can honestly say that I read for fun every single evening before going to bed. I can’t recall a time when I didn’t have one or two books on my kindle that I was enjoying.”
Whether working or playing, Cherrier strives every day to make a difference in someone’s life: “This personal mantra is why I chose to get into real estate.
