An accomplished swimmer, Austin Snyder was a part of NC State’s Division I Men’s Swimming and Dive team, winning two ACC championships and also participating in the Olympic Trials! His senior year, Austin served as team captain. It’s no wonder he was able to dive right into real estate, becoming a successful REALTOR®. His ability to compete internally with himself, yet effectively work within a team makes him stand out in his field.
Graduating from NC State in 2016 with a Business Administration degree and concentration in finance, Austin found his home with the Shugart Realty Group of Keller Williams South Park. His career volume from three and a half years as an agent is $31 million. Last year’s volume was $11.3 million – a stellar example of his upward momentum. In 2018, Austin’s team of two agents was the number two in all of North Carolina and South Carolina per closed volume.
“I didn’t truly have a ‘come to Jesus’ moment as to why I got into real estate,” Austin reflects. “I have always been interested in the local Charlotte neighborhoods and learning about each pocket neighborhood. Growing up, I was fascinated with homes. I liked their different styles and what kind of homes you see in different areas. I also love talking with others and socializing.”
With a grin, he adds, “I’d be lying if I didn’t get a little bit of inspiration from watching Million Dollar Listing: NYC.”
Austin credits his success as a REALTOR® to his team at Keller Williams. “I wouldn’t be where I am today without the help of so many top agents at Keller Williams. My mentor, Billy Shugart, has been an incredible role model for me to look up to and model my business after. He took me onto his team and invested in me, and I am forever grateful for his support.”
With a passion, Austin has made it a focus to zone in on and continuously expand his sphere of influence. He would like to not only help friends and family with their home buying/selling process, but also their friends and family as well. “It is important for me to find my clients exactly what it is they want — their ‘dream home,'” Austin says. As well, he loves to visit his clients after they have moved in!
For those newcomers to the industry, Austin shares, “I’ve only been in real estate for a few years, but I would recommend ensuring you truly enjoy what it is you are doing. When you love what you do on a daily basis, it doesn’t feel like a ‘job!’”
He adds, “Real estate allows me to live a more flexible lifestyle. I can truly focus on my job while here in Charlotte, but I also have the opportunity to do what I truly love – travel and explore the world!”
When asked to define success, Austin notes, “To me, success is not solely about making the most money, but about being able to reach the goals you set for yourself in both business and in your personal life. And, most importantly, being happy while doing all of that!”
Outside of helping buyers and sellers with real estate needs, Austin loves to travel and enjoys sports, whether as a participant or a spectator. He is a loyal Carolina Panthers fan and prides himself on his attendance to all of the home games.
Austin is a proud pet owner of his dog, Ace. Austin and Ace can be found outside enjoying walks and regularly exploring their Wesley Heights neighborhood.
Family time is important to Austin. He loves spending time with his mother, Natalie; father, Bobby; and sister, Brittney. As a family, they love to travel and venture to somewhere new each year. A favorite summer destination is Hilton Head Island, SC, where Austin’s father’s side of the family gathers yearly. Austin laughs, “Fifteen people in one house is no joke!”
For each closing he has, Austin donates $100 to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. “I just feel grateful that I have the opportunity to give back,” he tells us. “I believe in caring for others and ‘paying it forward.’”
“I am all about transparency,” Austin tells us, “and I will not compromise in giving up who I am. I know I can best help others when I am 100-percent myself.” Austin’s favorite quote from Dr. Seuss sums it up best:
“Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind.”
